About

Built by someone who wanted a chat app he could trust

Pairly started as a simpler idea - a place to talk to someone new, without the noise most platforms come with. The first version launched, and it taught me more than it succeeded: no rate limits, no real plan for cost, and a product that looked polished but wasn't easy to actually walk into.

Rebuilding it meant making a few decisions early, and sticking to them. AI would never pretend to be human - if you're ever talking to Pairly AI while we find you a real match, you'll know. No account required to start. Every video call gets a safety check, and one tap ends a conversation that's gone wrong.

None of that makes Pairly the flashiest app out there. It's meant to make it one you can actually trust.

What we won't compromise on

Honesty first

AI is disclosed, always. No exceptions, no fine print.

No unnecessary friction

You shouldn't need an account to have a genuine conversation.

Safety isn't optional

Active moderation, instant reporting - built in, not bolted on.

The journey so far

V1 launched

First version of Pairly went live - real users, real conversations.

Lessons learned

No rate limiting, no monetization plan - server costs became unsustainable.

Rebuilding, on purpose

V2 started from scratch: disclosed AI, guest access, safety built in from day one.

Where we are now

Building in public, one feature at a time.

Follow the build

Pairly is being built in the open. No hidden roadmap - just progress, as it happens.

Questions people ask

Pairly is an independent project, built solo - not backed by a large company.

A free tier funded partly by ads, plus optional paid plans for people who want extras like priority matching and filters. No selling user data.

No. As a guest, we collect the minimum needed to keep the platform safe - nothing is sold to third parties.

It's a full rebuild. The name's the same, but the approach - disclosed AI, guest access, safety-first design - is new.
